FUNAAB WELCOMES FORMER VC

     It was an exciting moment when the management, staff and students of Federal University Of Agriculture, Abeokuta stepped out to honour and welcome the former Vice Chancellor and immediate past Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission(NUC); Prof. Julius Amioba Okojie back to the campus after fifteen years(15yrs) of leave and impactful service at the federal government level.
 
   The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole made the disclosure while welcoming the special guest and present guests saying that "history is being made because the former Vice-Chancellor is the first to give the university's inaugural lecture" he remarked.
"He also served for two tenures as the
Nigeria Universities Commission's Executive Secretary".
"He is the son of the land since he has been conferred with the chieftaincy title; The Aare agbe of Egbaland" he concluded.

      The event was accompanied with entertainment from FUNAAB cultural troupe, and then, commendatory comments were made from different representatives of unions such as NASU, SSANU and some well-wishers. The benevolent character displayed by Prof. Okojie during his administration as the Vice-Chancellor was mentioned and emphasized.
 
     Moreover, appreciative messages were delivered by the two-time Executive Secretary of NUC where he stressed that he is happy with the kind of development that happened to the institution and concluded that "FUNAAB is a big family!"

Transportation Issues In Funaab

     The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has provided luxurious buses also known as MANCOT for the transportation of both students and staff of the school during the weekdays. Cabs and Buses (shuttle) are also allowed into the school for the effective conveyance of students to and from the school during the weekdays and weekends. Despite all this, the transportation system in FUNAAB is still a major source of concern for the students. Speaking to our correspondent, few Funaabites express their concerns and requests regarding the transportation issues in FUNAAB.       Lawal Simbiat, a 200L student from the department of Microbiology stated in a brief interview “Most times, the transportation system in FUNAAB hasn't been something to write home about.
