The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta Student Union (FUNAABSU) on Wednesday, commenced her 25th year anniversary at the Julius Okojie Hall (JAO3).

The occasion was grace by eminent personalities; the Vice- Chancellor Professor O.B. Oyewole,  Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, Professor  Enikomeyin,  PDP 2015 governorship Aspirant in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, Dean of Student Affairs Prof. Akegbejo Samson, First SUG President, Mr Adebowale Spencer , The First Suleco chairman &  student to become a professor  in the same institution, Prof. Lateef Sanni and the Institute  National Alumni President,  Mr Sola Togun.
The program was anchored by Opeyemi Odelade (Rockcity) and Rosemary.

The commencement lecture delivered by Prof. Lateef Sanni, ‘Tagged:- THE ROLE OF STUDENTS IN NATION BUILDING”. where he adviced the students to join the Agricultural sector of the Nation to supply food such as Cassava, Yam & Maize for the Federal Government on the "One Meal a Day" Project.
He also declared that funds have been made available by the Federal Government to finance the project and promised to support students in developing a proposal for the project. In conclusion, he advised all students to position themselves for this opportunity.

The special guest of honor, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) promised to support the "One Meal a Day Project" by making funds available for students for the purpose of farming.
When donations were raised to support the 2nd edition of the FUNAABSU Magazine he was quoted saying “I was thinking the student union government is going to pay me appearance fee” but later donated a sum of two hundred thousand naira since he was unaware, and promised to do more if need be.
In an interview with Topnotch correspondent, he applauded the student union body and expressed is wishes for Funaabites." Excellent job by everyone. Nice school,the environment is great. The future is great, everybody is great ",Prince Gboyega Nasir remarked.

Also featured, there were music performances by Octavia, Yinka sax and Toyin (The first winner of the FUNAABSU Idol) and comedy by Helpta .

Some of the students commended the student union body and expressed their opinion about the event stating their dissatisfaction with regards to the refreshment. In an interview with Arowolo Damilola,a 200level student of Pasture and Range Management who said "the event is okay, it was nice but the refreshment does not make sense" . She revealed the changes she would like to see when celebrating Funaabsu @ 50 saying "Funaab social life is boring , its all about work all the time" she expressed

Transportation Issues In Funaab

     The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has provided luxurious buses also known as MANCOT for the transportation of both students and staff of the school during the weekdays. Cabs and Buses (shuttle) are also allowed into the school for the effective conveyance of students to and from the school during the weekdays and weekends. Despite all this, the transportation system in FUNAAB is still a major source of concern for the students. Speaking to our correspondent, few Funaabites express their concerns and requests regarding the transportation issues in FUNAAB.       Lawal Simbiat, a 200L student from the department of Microbiology stated in a brief interview “Most times, the transportation system in FUNAAB hasn't been something to write home about.
